Off Wight is a writing and design partnership. Between us we have more than 30 years’ experience as professional writers and designers.
At Off Wight we believe that quality delivers business success and that quality products and services require quality presentation. In other words, it’s not enough to do a good job, you’ve got to be seen to be doing it.

It’s understandable that small businesses may feel that paying for writing and design services is a luxury they can ill afford. But the alternative may be even more expensive: what you say about yourself and the way you say it may be the difference between winning business and losing it.
Besides, we believe that smartening up your image is more than a cosmetic exercise. If done properly, the process of producing a new logo, a client newsletter or even a newspaper ad, can actually help you improve the way you do business. It gives you an opportunity to focus on your business aims and how well you are meeting them.

What makes Off Wight different is that we put the words first. We identify the key points of the sales message and express them clearly; we don’t bury them in marketing-speak. In our opinion, too many glossy brochures and technically slick websites are spoilt by being poorly written.
Words – whether in the form of a website or brochure, a letter of introduction or advertisements – are often a potential customer’s first point of contact with your business. Get these wrong and business will be lost, without you even knowing it. If you can’t be bothered to dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s in your promotional literature, potential customers may assume that the products and services you provide will be similarly slapdash.

At Off Wight we believe that to sell a quality product or service you need quality design and that bad design can be as damaging as poorly written copy.
There is plenty of poor design around. One problem, of course, is that access to computers makes designers of us all. We’ve all seen the results of self-taught designers getting carried away with their own technology, never using one simple typeface where ten fancy ones will do.
So professional design is important, but it shouldn’t lead the content by the nose. It is all too easy for the client’s message to get lost among the glossy photos and the designer’s creative flourishes.
At Off Wight our design work is always content led. We make sure we offer our customers substance as well as style.
